Blood vessels in the conjunctiva become pronounced, and the cornea may appear bluish due to edema. In Charlie’s case, the loss of vision was abrupt, occurring within mere hours.

Residing in North Carolina, Charlie’s owners, Chelsea and Adam Stipe, observed the profound impact of his blindness on his once-spirited demeanor. The normally buoyant dog found himself struggling to adapt to this sudden upheaval. Contemplating how best to support their cherished companion, the couple entertained the notion of enlisting a service dog to assist him—though convincing Charlie proved to be a challenge initially.
