Pay attention to your dog’s body language. A content, happy dog typically has a soft gaze and relaxed eyebrows, along with floppy, relaxed ears. Their body is soft, loose, and wiggly, and their tail is held in a relaxed manner. Additionally, they may appear to be smiling by holding their mouth open without baring their teeth.

Conversely, a dog that is far from happy may display a hard gaze, narrowed eyes, and pulled-back ears. If your pooch curls their lips and bares their teeth, it’s time to take a step back and evaluate your behavior towards them.
