Red Dead Redemption 2 is a critically acclaimed open-world game developed by Rockstar Games. The game is set in the year 1899, and players take on the role of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang. The game is known for its vast open world, engaging storyline, and attention to detail. However, despite the game’s massive popularity and success, there are still some secrets that many players have yet to discover.
14- Explore Devil’s Cave And Meet “Lucifer” Himself
Located just north of Pronghorn Ranch and close to the border of the map, there is a circular border that can be easily spotted on the map, leading to a hidden cave entrance. This entrance takes players off the map to a place known as Devil’s Cave, due to the unique individual found inside. Once inside, players should follow the light source and be careful of sudden drops into pits, in order to find the individual known as “Lucifer”. However, if players return and speak with the man, they will soon discover that he is not as he seems. Devil’s Cave does not offer many rewards, but players will still be glad they discovered the hidden entrance.
13- The Ghost of Agnes Dowd
In the game’s Lemoyne region, players can come across a ghostly figure known as Agnes Dowd. The ghost is said to be the spirit of a woman who was murdered by her husband. The ghost can be found in a cabin in the woods, and players can interact with her by leaving offerings at her grave.
12- The Strange Man
In the game’s story, players will come across a mysterious man who appears to be following Arthur. The man is always dressed in a suit and can be found in various locations throughout the game. Some players have speculated that the man is a government agent, while others believe he is a supernatural being.
11- Get Acquainted With The Terrifying ManBearPig
South Park’s creators have consistently included Red Dead Redemption in episodes due to their strong admiration for the game. In turn, Rockstar Games paid homage to the show by including the ManBearPig creature, which has become a staple in South Park’s mythology thanks to Al Gore’s fixation with it. Players can find the ManBearPig in RDR2 by exploring the home of an experimental scientist near the Van Horn Trading Post. The house has a window on the roof that players can enter, though they may regret doing so.
10- Enjoy A Drink With New Friends At The Aberdeen Pig Farm
The Aberdeen Pig Farm is a well-known side quest in the game, with many YouTube videos dedicated to it. However, it can be challenging to locate and many players may have only seen it on video rather than experiencing it themselves. The farm is located in Scarlett Meadows, just north of Pleasance and near the Roanoke Ridge border. To start the quest, players must not only find the location but also interact with its inhabitants.
9- Find Inner Peace With The Mountain Monk
The Mountain Monk is a hidden Easter egg that can be difficult to find for players who don’t enjoy exploring. It can be found just south of the “r” in Grizzlies East, but getting to the top of the mountain is quite challenging. Once the player reaches the top, they will be rewarded with a beautiful view and a monk meditating in a unique outfit. Players can interact with him in any way they wish, but their honor will be affected if they choose to push him off the mountain.
8- Take A Sip From The Witch Cauldron In Grizzlies East
The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of surprises, including UFOs that fly overhead and the presence of alchemy and witches. In the Grizzlies East region, players can find an abandoned and mysterious witches cauldron.
The cauldron’s proximity to the Mountain Monk location makes it easy for players to visit before or after their encounter with the meditating monk. Players can interact with the liquid inside the cauldron and if they drink it, they will be transported to another location and their cores will be fully replenished. The witch who owns the cauldron is quite benevolent.
7- Track Down Marko Dragic’s Robot In The Mountains
The robot in Red Dead Redemption 2 is not difficult to find, but it’s location on top of a mountain may have gone unnoticed by players. The robot is first introduced in the stranger mission “A Bright Bouncing Boy,” which can be started in West Saint Denis. After completing part II of the mission, players can return to Dragic’s workshop and collect notes. They can then travel to the northwest Grizzlies, near Colter, where they will find the robot on top of a mountain, contemplating its role in its inventor’s death. It’s a melancholic scene.
6- Chase Down The Ghost Train Of Lemoyne County
The supernatural is definitely a part of the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, as evidenced by the existence of the legendary Ghost Train. Unlike other Rockstar myths, the Ghost Train is real and can be both terrifying and fascinating. To find the train, players should travel to the northwest section of Lemoyne and ride along the tracks around 3:00 AM. Eventually, the eerie ghost train will appear, allowing players to observe it in all its eerie glory.
5- Have An Interesting Conversation At Bigfoot’s Hidden Cave
Although the Red Dead Redemption franchise has featured Bigfoot and Sasquatch in the past, fans were surprised to find no mention of either creature in RDR2, despite the presence of a giant skeleton. However, players may have discovered where Bigfoot is hiding. By startling a flock of birds resting on the lake at Calumet Ravine, players can follow them through the mountains to a cave blocked with boulders. There, a mysterious voice calls out to them for a captivating conversation.
4- Sit A Spell At The Tiny Church In The Swamp
It’s not an actual church for ants, but a miniature model church that is quite endearing. The church can be found in the swamps north of Saint Denis, east of Lakay. The area is not the most hospitable, but maybe that’s why the church is there. There’s not much to do at the church aside from exploring it and contemplating its secrets. However, if players find the vampire and bring him to the altar, something intriguing will occur.
3- Hunt Down The Vampire Of Saint Denis
Are you aware of the vampire hiding in Saint Denis? Unfortunately, players cannot just come across him by chance. They must first locate five pieces of written material scattered throughout the city. These writings can be found on walls at random locations in Saint Denis, and once all five are collected, the vampire’s location will be revealed.
The vampire bears a resemblance to the character Nosferatu from the eponymous film and can be observed drinking the blood of a victim. The player has the choice of what to do with him. One option is to tie him up and bring him to the small church or any of the various pagan or satanic rituals on the map, just to see what transpires.
2- Vetter’s Echo Is Also Known As The Bear House
Many players may have come across images of the Bear House online or on YouTube videos, but for those who haven’t, it’s best to avoid viewing them as it will ruin the surprise. For those who enjoy unexpected discoveries, they should visit Big Valley in West Elizabeth. There, they will find a small cabin called Vetter’s Echo located south of the Little Creek River. Players can explore the cabin and find some items for their companions back at the camp, but they should be cautious and ready for anything.
1- The Mystery Of The Crashed Airship
The crashed airplane is well-hidden in a dense forest, so players can be forgiven for missing it. However, it’s located in the Big Valley region, so it’s worth the search. The point of interest includes a crashed airplane, debris scattered across the forest floor and a skeleton still inside the wreckage. It’s possible that the person died on impact and did not suffer. This could be an Easter egg referencing the first Red Dead Redemption game, which featured a mission that ended in an aviation-related death. It’s interesting to note that the first recorded airplane flight did not occur until several years later.
In conclusion, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game with a lot of secrets and hidden elements. While many players have discovered some of these secrets, there are still many that have yet to be uncovered. The game’s vast open world, engaging story, and attention to detail make it a perfect game for players who enjoy exploring and uncovering hidden elements.
