Severe stress can be a reason. Have you moved into the new apartment.. ..lately? Give the pet some time to learn its way around. If not, take it to the vet. It’s probably not feeling well. Hiding issues is mostly true for cats, and It can be okay sometimes. But if your dog does that, it is an alarming sign.
